    Caesar Sausage Crustini


     

    Ingredients:

    • 1 long baguette, very thinly sliced
    • 1 lb. Fresh Sweet Premio Italian sausage, casings removed
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
    • 2 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup creamy Caesar salad dressing
    • 1 (8oz.) pkg. shredded Italian blend cheese
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/8 teaspoon dried red pepper, crushed (optional)
    • Salt & pepper to taste

    How to make Caesar Sausage Crostini:

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place baguette slices in single layer on large baking sheet. Bake for 5-8 minutes or until lightly toasted. Remove from oven and set aside. Preheat broiler.

    In a large non-stick skillet cook Premio Sweet/Mild Italian Sausage, onion, and garlic until sausage is brown and broken up and onion is cooked through and tender. Drain off excess fat then set aside to cool.

    Meanwhile in large mixing bowl combine mayonnaise, Caesar salad dressing, cheese, oregano, red pepper (if desired), and salt and pepper to taste; mix until well combined. Mix in cooled sausage mixture and mix until well combined. Spread over toasted baguette slices and return to baking sheet.

    Place about 6 inches below broiler for about 2-4 minutes or until bubbly. Serve immediately. Serves 6-8.
