    Chris's Premio Sausage Sauce

    • 20 Premio Hot Italian sausages
    • 6 cans (29-oz. each) crushed tomatoes
    • 8-oz. onion, diced
    • 4 tsp. seasoned salt
    • 3 tsp. dried basil

How to make Chris's Premio Sausage Sauce:

    1. In a large pot, over medium heat, brown Premio Hot Italian sausages on both sides.  Remove and set aside.
    2. Once sausages are done browning, throw diced onion into remaining oil and saute until brown.
    3. Add crushed tomatoes, salt and basil; mix well.
    4. Lightly puncture skin of sausages 3-4 times on each side (this allows more flavors and juices into the sauce). Add back to pot.
    5. Lower heat to as minimal as possible and cover. Check often.
    6. Once bubbles start forming at the top, mix sauce with wooden spoon. This needs to continue for 6 hours.
    7. Serve and enjoy!

All I wanted to do today was send you a bunch of pics of the different stages of how we make our Premio sausage sauce that we've been making every month for over 30 years with Premio Hot along with our very simple recipe. So today I went to your website for the first time and WOW! I think the sausage lentil soup will be the first one we will try. We love lentil soup.
