    Elise’s Premio Sausage and Red Cabbage Sandwiches


     

    Ingredients:

    • 1 package Premio Hot Italian Sausage
    • 1 cup fresh parmesan cheese (sliced thin)
    • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (thing sliced)
    • 6 long Kaiser Rolls
    • Pre-heat BBQ grill put sausage on grill for about 10-20 min until done.

    While they are on the grill start with the cabbage
    Aunt Else’s Fav Red Cabbage

    • 4 slices bacon, chopped
    • 1/4 c. onions, chopped
    • 6 tsp. brown sugar
    • 3 tsp. vinegar
    • 4 c. shredded cabbage
    How to make Elise’s Premio Sausage and Red Cabbage sandwiches:
    Fry bacon, add onion, sauté slightly. Add brown sugar and vinegar, add cabbage and simmer over low heat 20 minutes.
    Place the rolls on a large platter, Take ice cream scoop full of the red cabbage and place at the bottom of each bun. Then place a sausage on each bun and add cheese to top.
    You can also use a bit of celery salt on top of cheese for taste.
