    Ma’s Premio Spaghetti Sauce

    Ingredients:

    • 2 Tb Olive Oil
    • 1 - 16 oz package Premio Italian sausage meat (sweet or hot)
    • 1 large sweet onion chopped
    • 5 cloves garlic minced
    • 1 handful chopped Basil
    • 1 handful chopped Oregano
    • Hint: if fresh herbs aren’t available, dry will do, but only use about a Tablespoon of each.
    • 28 oz can tomato sauce
    • 1 - 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
    • 28 oz can chopped tomatoes

How to make Ma’s Premio Spaghetti Sauce

In a large heavy bottomed saucepan warm the olive oil over medium/high heat.
Break up Premio Sweet Italian Sausage Meat in the pan (a potato masher is a great tool for this).
Add the onion and garlic and sauté the mix together until the sausage is browned and the onions have become transparent.
Add the 3 cans of tomato as well as the basil, & oregano
Simmer on low heat until flavors have combined – a minimum of a ½ hour.  This recipe is easily modified to cater to taste preferences.   I sometimes add olives, spinach, or summer squash, mushrooms, peppers, etc.  It’s great over your favorite noodles, in lasagna, or as a pizza sauce.

    Serves 8-12 depending on preparation
(leftovers freeze perfectly for a quick meal later)
