Sausage Mincemeat Pie

Ingredients:

2 Premio Mild Italian Sausage links
4 medium Granny Smith apples (about 1- 1 1/2 lbs.), peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 baked 9″ pie crust
1 cup seedless raisins
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
3 tablespoons orange marmalade
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Sour cream (optional)

  • Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
  • Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.

How to make Sausage Mincemeat Pie:

1. On a grill over medium-high heat, grill Premio Sausage according to package directions.

2. In a large, heavy skillet, add apples, raisins, granulated sugar, and water; stir to combine and cook for 15 minutes or until apples are soft. Stir in marmalade, brown sugar and spices; cook for 3 minutes longer, uncovered.

3. Once sausages are done, chop up and add to apple mixture; stir well to evenly combine. Allow mixture to sit for 5 minutes before pouring into baked pie shell. Serve warm or at room temperature. Top each serving with a dollop of sour cream (if desired).
