Ingredients:
2 pounds Premio Premio’s Sweet Italian Sausage, casings removed and meat crumbled
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
28 ounces of crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup of cream
Handful of basil leaves torn finely
1/2 cup frozen peas
Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
1 pound Penne pasta, cooked al dente
Grated parmesean cheese to top, optional
- Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
- Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.
How to make Tracies Easy Italian Sausage and Pasta:
1. Heat skillet over medium heat; add oil. Add garlic and cook until tender.
2. Add crumbled Premio Sausage and cook until done, according to package directions. Add broth to pan and scrape off brown bits on pan.
3. Add the cream, canned tomatoes, basil leaves and salt & pepper. Cook on low heat for about 1 hour.
4. Meanwhile, prepare a pasta pot with water; bring to boil and add pasta. Cook until al dente. Once the soup is finished, pour over the drained pasta. If desired sprinkle with cheese and serve warm.
