Ingredients:
5 pounds Premio Private: Kielbasa, cut into 1 to 2 inch sections
1.5 cups dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
- Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.
How to make Keilbasa in a Brown Sugar Reduction:
1. Place Premio Kielbasa, brown sugar, pepper and onion in large pot. Cover to the top of kielbasa with water and bring to a boil.
2. Heat over medium flame for 90 minutes to 2 hours, until the brown sugar caramelizes over kielbasa and turns a dark red (onions will disintegrate in the caramelization process). Stir occasionally and turn down heat if kielbasa starts to burn.
