Ingredients:
1 (16-ounce) package Premio Sweet Italian Sausage Meat or Premio Hot Italian Sausage Meat
1 large sweet onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 handful chopped basil
1 handful chopped oregano
1 (28-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (28-ounce) can chopped tomatoes
- Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
- Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.
How to make Ma's Premio Spaghetti Sauce:
1. In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, warm the olive oil over medium/high heat. Break up Premio Sausage in the pan.
2. Add the onion and garlic; sauté the mixture together until the sausage has browned and the onions have become transparent.
3. Add the 3 cans of tomatoes, as well as the basil and oregano. Simmer on low heat until flavors have combined (a minimum of 30 minutes).
