Ingredients:
16 ounces Premio Sweet Italian Sausage Meat, crumbled into bite size portions
1/2 cup basil pesto
3/4 cup roasted red bell peppers
1/3 cup sliced olives
1 small bunch fresh parsley coarsely chopped (optional)
3 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
- Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.
How to make Premio Sweet Italian Sausage Pesto Pasta:
1. Place a pot on stovetop to boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions. Once done, drain.
2. In a frying pan over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons olive oil and brown Premio Sausage, making sure to cook through. Drain excess fat and reserve meat.
3. Once you have drained the pasta, coat with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and return it to it’s pot. Add the sausage meat, pesto and peppers; heat through, stirring frequently (approximately 3 minutes if the meat is still hot). Garnish with olives and parsley.
