Spicy Premio Chorizo Baked Beans

Ingredients:

1 package Premio Sausage (choose your favorite)
1/3 pound pork belly cooked and cubed
2 (28 ounce) cans baked beans
8 ounces ketchup
2 tablespoons mustard
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
1/4 cup brown sugar
1.5 tablespoons ground cumin
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons chipotle chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
4-5 garlic cloves, minced
8 slices bacon

  • Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
  • Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.

How to make Spicy Premio Chorizo Baked Beans:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Remove Premio Chorizo from casing and add to a large, heated skillet. Fry sausage until golden brown.

2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the bacon. Pour bean mixture into a 16″ x 10″ casserole dish. Top with bacon slices and cover with foil.

3. Place in preheated oven and bake for approximately 40-45 minutes. Once done, remove foil and cook for an additional 15 minutes or until bacon is crispy. Remove oven dish from oven and allow beans to rest. Enjoy.
