This Ain’t Your Momma’s Spaghetti

Ingredients:

1 pound Premio Sausage (choose your favorite), cut into 1-inch slices 2 medium onions, cut into approximately 1″ x 2″ chunks
2 green or yellow peppers, cut into 1″ x 2″ chunks
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons hot sauce
2 tablespoons cilantro
1 jar favorite spaghetti sauce
1 pound thin spaghetti

  • Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
  • Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.

How to make This Ain't Your Momma's Spaghetti:

1. In a large, deep sauté pan, cook and brown Premio Sausage until almost done. Add onions, peppers and garlic; saute until softened.

2. Add tomatoes, hot sauce and cilantro; simmer for 30 – 45 minutes. Add spaghetti sauce and heat through.

3. While sauce is cooking, prepare spaghetti according to package directions. Drain well.

4. Ladle generous amount of sauce over pasta and serve.
